About Deborah
Deborah McCarter, PhD, RN is a maternal-child health nurse, and a professor emerita of Saint Anselm College where she taught nursing since 2007. Even before she officially moved to Goffstown in 2017, she was delighted to have access to the Goffstown library as an employee of Saint Anselm College. She has participated in joint events between the Geisel Library at Saint Anselm College and Goffstown Public Library.
The first thing Deborah has always done in moving to a new community is to get a library card! She has spent countless hours in libraries, both in colleges and in communities, and loves to teach students how to discover the treasures available there.
Since retiring from Saint Anselm College in 2024, Deborah sought out the opportunity to serve Goffstown more directly, and her love of knowledge and intellectual curiosity made supporting the local library a clear choice and is pleased to be part of the Goffstown Library Foundation. She is committed to a community where everyone has equal access to resources, and where children and adults can discover and grow through interaction with the materials and activities available.
Deborah is the mother of two adult children, one of whom graduated from Goffstown High School. She lives in Pinardville with her precious Cavapoo puppy, “Friendly”, and can often be seen enjoying the events and businesses in Goffstown Village, if she is not reading a book to a great niece or nephew.
